Clinical Services

Clinical Psychology services at The Charles Street Clinic are based on evidence-based therapies and are broken down into four sections.

1. CHILD AND FAMILY

Our psychologists have extensive experience in dealing with a range of childhood mental health conditions such as;

  • ADHD

  • ODD

  • ANXIETY

  • DEPRESSION

  • GRIEF

  • PHOBIA

  • OCD

We also work on the individual issues related to these conditions such as;

  • Self-Esteem and Self-Efficacy

  • Adjustment to loss, change or family break down

  • Trauma

  • Educational and Developmental challenges

  • Social skill deficits

  • School refusal

Our practitioners take a systemic view to working with children and, therefore include parents at most stages of therapy. Empowering parents to know how best to support their child is considered pivotal.

2. ADOLESCENT

We have male and female psychologists at The Charles Street Clinic and see adolescents for a range of issues such as:

  • ADHD

  • CONDUCT DISORDER

  • ANXIETY DISORDERS (e.g. phobia, OCD)

  • DEPRESSION

  • EATING DISORDER

  • GRIEF

Adolescents have a range of issues associated with their developing identities, motivation and transitions into independent living. Our psychologists address all mental health issues with this understanding and attempt to connect the teenagers we see with the social and family systems that will lead to long -term change.

3. ADULT

All our psychologists are specifically trained in adult mental health and have worked extensively in that field. Due to The Charles Street Clinic seeing a wide number of complex cases at the family and child level we often need to work with adult members of the family to address specific issues. The following specialties for working with adults are available:

  • DEPRESSION AND ANXIETY

  • GRIEF

  • RELATIONSHIP COUNSELLING

  • ANGER MANAGEMENT

  • CONFLICT RESOLUTION AND COMMUNICATION

  • DEVELOPMENTAL AND ASSESSMENT SERVICES

We have an Educational and Developmental Psychologist at The Charles Street Clinic who oversees and conducts assessments and services.

We offer the following assessments:
